Somerton Road Residential Home, Belfast
A substantial but sensitive extension planned to modernise an existing 8 place children's home.
The existing 3 storey Victorian house and site are located in a residential and conservation area and attracted many public objections relating to its use.
3D modelling was used to demonstrate appropriate scale, form and finishing to the project during consultation with the planning department.
The project was completed in June 2007.
Since completion the design has been published in PERSPECTIVE, the Journal of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects.
